Time Skip – Author’s POV
The moment Rudra entered the house, Jannu rushed towards him, not realizing the floor was wet.
[ Imagine her running on stairs]
“Jannu… come slowly!” Rudra warned. But not listening, she ran towards him and slipped, falling to the floor. Her leg twisted painfully.
“JANNU!” Rudra shouted, and everyone rushed to her.
He quickly lifted her and made her sit on the sofa. Kneeling in front of her, he held her leg, seeing the injury.
“I told you to come slowly… now see what happened,” he said, calling the doctor.
Then he looked at her and scolded,
“Chinna pillava? Chepteh ardam kadha? Nikemina aithe… burra pani cheyadam leda?”
[Are you a little kid? Don’t you understand? What if something happens? Is your brain not working?]
Seeing him angry, Jannu started crying. Her tears only made his anger rise.
“edavaku! Champutha edchavante!”
[Stop crying! If you keep crying, I’ll kill you!]
She cried harder.
“Aputhava okati ivva na?”
[Will you stop, or do you want me to give you one slap?]
He raised his hand angrily, but his mother intervened.
“Rudra! Appu… adhi edusthundi.”
[Rudra, stop… she’s crying.]
“Ha… edupu okate vastadi.”
[Yes, that’s the only thing she knows.]
Still glaring, he sighed. His mother gave him a serious look, and Rudra walked away to get an ice pack. He came back, sat near her, placed her leg on his lap, and applied the pack, still glaring at her silently.
A little later, the doctor came, gave medicine, and instructed them to keep applying ice to reduce the swelling.
Her mother said, “Let’s eat, it’s already late.” Everyone nodded.
As food was being served, Jannu suddenly stood up. “I don’t want to eat,” she said, limping towards her room, clearly showing her anger..not at the pain, but at her Bava.
In the background, Rudra kept calling, “Jannu… Jannu… Jahnavi…” But she ignored him and went to her room.
Downstairs, Rudra sighed and got up.
“Amma, plate ivvu… nenu thinipistha.”
[Mom, give me a plate. I’ll feed her.]
His mother nodded, handing him a plate with enough food for two, knowing very well that he would eat while feeding her.
As Rudra went upstairs, his mother chuckled,
“Bagundhi… mundu tittadu, tarvata bujaginchadu. Saripoyaru iddaru.”
[Good… first he scolds her, then he lulls her. The two are perfect.]
Everyone laughed at her words.
